Time to say thank you

Many sources refer to the year 1994 and to Adrienne Sioux Koopersmith, who comes from Illinois. But it is not quite clear why the Thank You Day falls exactly on January 11th. It is very likely, however, that there is no direct connection in terms of content with the three other holidays that are also celebrated on January 11th: German Apple Day, Milk Day in the USA and Puddle Day. Although there are, of course, good reasons to be grateful for the existence of crisp apples, fresh milk and the pleasure of puddle-jumping.

How do you celebrate Thank You Day?

You can guess three times how Thank You Day is celebrated. Actually not so difficult, because the name says it all. The best way to celebrate tomorrow’s holiday is simply to use it to say thank you. If you think about it for a moment, you will surely think of many people in your environment who deserve a small thank you. The first thing you think of is probably your family or friends. But also the postman, the cashier in the supermarket around the corner or the friendly neighbour who always accepts your parcels when you are not there would certainly be happy about a heartfelt thank you.
